Hire Controller
The Company
As a growing and ambitious company, we have identified the need for a Hire Controller to add to the team at our Tallaght office.
As a customer facing position our Hire Controllers are key to ensuring the continuing growth of our company and act as an ambassador for our brand. As a Hire Controller your ability to form solid and long lasting relationships with our clients will be key along with the aptitude to effectively communicate, influence and interact with all types of customers and colleagues. You will be expected to bring effective sales and problem solving strategies to the business along with an ability to manage potential disputes.
The Role
This role is at the front line of hire and sales to our customers. Primarily, the Hire Controller will be responsible for all types of hire (e.g., weekly hire & event hire) from quoting, to booking to completion.
Relationship Building is key to being successful in this role and the successful candidate will require a high level of Customer Service as they will be expected to deal with and resolve any customer queries relating to hire. Working closely with our logistics personnel you will be responsible for coordinating the hire process to ensure the needs of the customer are planned for and ultimately fulfilled.
Primary Responsibilities
- Nurture and build relationships with existing customers promoting repeat business and resolving any account issues.
- Work closely with the hire team preparing solutions and quotations to meet customer specific requirements.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues to ensure timely delivery or collection of hire equipment.
- Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of the company’s hire equipment in order to recommend appropriate hire solutions for customers.
- Action business leads via email and telephone to promote interest in Norspace products and services.
- Develop relationships with existing customers to promote upselling of new products and services.
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
- Complete any additional ad hoc duties as they may be required.
Additional Information
Training will be provided.
Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
This role is based on a working week Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm but due to the nature of our business you may also be expected to work outside of these hours in peak busy time.

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2-year hire experience working in a sales or customer service role
- Excellent English language and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present value solutions to potential customers
- Comfortable building relationships with a positive “can-do” attitude
- Ability to work independently or as part of a wider team
- A driven self-starter with ability to work to key targets and deadlines
- IT literate with experience of logistics management software beneficial but not essential
